Blessings,

I'd like this thread to be dedicated towards resources for studying and giving reverence to the patron of Iron. Any contributions would be appreciated.

Ogun of Ire my beloved
The primordial divinity that rages
Ogun that surrounds the world, the first of the spirits
The one who has water at home but bathes with water
The one who has clothes yet dresses in palm leaves
Ogun of the two cutlasses
He uses one to clear the brush; the other to clear the path
The day Ogun came from orun to earth
He was wearing clothes of fire
And clothes of blood
Ogun, the one of the house of money and the path of riches
Ogun, the one with the house at the edge of orun
My Ogun comes in seven forms
Ogun of Alara accepts dog
Ogun, the Onire will accept ram
Ogun Ikola will accept snail
Ogun the carpenter eats the sap of a tree
Ogun of Ila will accept roasted yam
Ogun of Akirin will accept the horn of a ram
Ogun Elemono eats the meat of a turtle
Ogun who brings valor has become the war beyond the city walls
He will accept the Nupe people, he will accept the Hausa
He will accept the Fulani, and all the foreigners
Do not joke around about fighting with Ogun
My Ogun is an honest Ogun, the son of Ororina and Tabutu
I say, because, when Ogun first arrived on earth
He first asked for palm wine when he reached the town of Ire
Ogun, the one of the house of money and the path of riches
Ogun, the one with the house at the edge of orun
Do not joke around about fighting with Ogun
Ogun is not very pleased
Mo ni, mó fówó rájá mó rí bọ̀gún lóde (túnkọ)
I used money to by a dog and I am able to sacrifice to Ogun today (x3)

Mind the people looking rudely at her...

QuoteOgun of the two cutlasses
He uses one to clear the brush; the other to clear the path

This is symbolic for Ogun being an obstacle clearer. As far as I know. It is said when Ogun came down to earth, he cleared the forests with his cutlasses. So that there was space for land to be cultivated and settled on. It is this reason Ogun can also be credited to be the deity of civilization. There is a special relationship between Ogun and the forests. Many of his shrines are erected in forests.

Ogun also has a temper and is said that he is associated with battle.

Many devotees appease Ogun so that obstacles may be cleared in their lives. So Ogun may manifest into our lives and give us the strength to get through life's challenges to accomplish our goals.

2. Eni wa soso
3. a ri soso

English translation
1. Ogun does not let me see evil
2. Don't let evil happen to me
3. Don't let me experience evil

Homage to the warrior Ogun for protection

It should also be noted that Ogun is also revered for his work ethic. A focused ironsmith and also patron of war. Judging by the ìtàns, when Ogun put his to a task, he obsessed over it until it was done. As mentioned before, Ogun is said to have a temper. And there are ìtàns where his temper and impatience got the best of him. Ogun is the Orisha with powerful aggressive energy. The one who has cloth but wears grass. The one that clears the bush to the left with his left handed cutlass. The one that clears the bush to the right with his right handed cutlass.
