I actually did not know the cowries worn by Shango priests symbolized Oshun. I really just thought they were symbol of wealth (Aje Olokun). I guess when worn by Shango devotees there is a different meaning. I also did not know Oshun was one of his wives. But then again Oshun was married to the other Irunmole as well. I think that in itself stresses the importance of joy in one's life.
